# Custom SIP trunking

> Bring your own telephony stack into Sippet with gateways, numbers, and SIP user workflows.

## What it is

Custom SIP trunking lets your org use Sippet with your own telephony setup rather than relying on a single default delivery path.

## In the console

In `Settings > Telephony & SMS` you can manage:

* gateways
* phone numbers
* number-to-agent assignment
* SMS sender settings

SIP user and operator voice access then fit into your broader call-center workflow.

## Key concepts

* `Gateway`: the connection definition for your carrier or SIP provider
* `Phone number`: the inbound or outbound number attached to a workflow
* `Assigned AI agent`: the agent tied to an inbound phone route
* `SIP access`: the credentials operators use for voice participation
